The news of the Chinese League of Legends (LoL) team that won the gold medal by defeating Korea at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games was heavily reported by CCTV (中国中央央电视台) at the time.
China, aiming to win the tournament for the second time in a row, began training after finishing the regional selection matches for its domestic league, LPL Summer, and League of Legends World Championship (Worlds Cup) on the 8th of last month.
It is known that the first base camp was conducted 토토솔루션제작 in Shenzhen, China, where Tencent's headquarters is located, and that training has now begun in Hangzhou through Edward Gaming (EDG). The schedule is about two weeks earlier than Korea, which started training last Wednesday.
At the helm of China is EDG coach ‘Kenju’ Zhuka. Jukai, who started as a coach at Invictus Gaming (IG) in 2013, went on to coach Li Ning Gaming (LNG) and led Royal Never Give Up (RNG) to its peak in 2022. Jukai, who left RNG, returned to EDG ahead of the 2023 season.
China consists of a six-man roster and is a joint team of EDG, Jingdong Gaming (JDG), and Bilibili Gaming (BLG). In EDG, following the 2018 tournament, Tianye 'Meiko' was selected once again, and jungler 'Jiejie' Zhao Lijie was selected.
Jingdong, which achieved three consecutive LPL wins, included mid laner Zuoding 'Knight', while BLG selected top laner Chen 'Bin' Zebin, jungler Feng 'Shen' Li-xun, and ranged dealer Zhao 'Elk' Jahao.
As Korea aims for the gold medal by defeating China, the variable appears to be the top. If patch 13.15 is released, there is a high possibility that the match will be decided on the upper body rather than the lower body. Korea's top laner was T1's Choi 'Zeus' Woo-je, but he has never won an international match against Chen 'Bin' Zebin.
Additionally, starting training two weeks early could be at a disadvantage for Korea. In China, 6 players from each team along with the 6 starting players are conducting the scrimmage, and the training schedule is conducted in a military style from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. after returning the smartphone. Recently, a video was posted on Weibo of the Chinese national team wearing practice uniforms and doing morning exercises. In a recent interview, 'Sheen' said, "The rules for diet, living, rest, website etc. are strict and the tight system is impressive."
China, which started training about two weeks before Korea, was the first to hit the mark. China's coach Zhu Kai said, "I hope that we will not have any regrets after giving our best and clashing with our opponents. We must strive for the glory of our country at the Asian Games. We will definitely bring home a gold medal."
